What Are Porcelain Veneers
We offer porcelain veneers as a way to perfect patients' smiles. They are made from very thin layers of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth using dental cement. But first, we'll need to create a model of your teeth/mouth in order to personalize your veneers to suit and match the rest of your natural teeth. The model will be sent to a dental lab and your veneers will be custom-made and then sent back to us. Before the veneers are placed, your teeth will need to be reshaped, therefore, your enamel will be shaved down. Now your new smile is one step closer to being complete.

While your permanent veneers are being custom-made, you may be given a temporary veneer to cover your tooth in the meantime. Because it'll only be temporarily bonded to the front of your tooth, you'll need to take extra precautions when eating or brushing your teeth. Definitely avoid chewing gum or biting into apples or ice.
As you get used to your new porcelain veneers, you may experience some tooth sensitivity. Every patient's experience varies, but some report sensitivity lasts for a few days to a couple of weeks. If you're experiencing sensitivity, avoid eating or drinking things that are too hot or too cold. Rinsing your mouth with warm salt water can also help reduce swelling, along with taking over-the-counter medications like Tylenol as needed.
